Christmas Crochet 2012

Hey good-looking, I'm glad you could make it to our big Winter/Christmas Crochet Party!

Although I'm madly in love with springtime and summer, I also love this time of year, when Christmas is approaching, you too? And since these weeks are perfect for staying in your cosy home and crocheting tons of beautiful and warm winter and Christmas items, why not take the whole month of December to create another inspiring crochet gallery? If you're still looking for some ideas, maybe you want to check out last year's Christmas board.

While this is the last link-party in 2012, you can already vote for your favorite topic for the next theme-party in January. I've added one new option to the poll, "Crochet for boys and men", a suggestion by Sheila, thank you!

Some things you should keep in mind:
What you see is what you get: please link to the specific post where your chosen project can be found (not just your main blog address), and make sure that your post is about crochet and matches the given theme! No shops! Please understand that I might remove links that ignore these points.
Feel free to post as many links as you like - you should really search in the depths of your archives to retrieve your forgotten treasures, this is your chance to bring them back to the surface! :)
You're welcome to vote for your favorite topic (the poll is right below this post). If you've got ideas for new topics, or if you'd like to see one of the previous topics back on the list again, please leave a comment!

Vintage Crochet

Happy Friday everyone!

Although I had a few problems with the last poll, in the end we've found a winner for this month's theme-party, and it's Vintage Crochet!
Everywhere you look, you can find vintage stuff on the internet: vintage clothes, vintage furniture, vintage cars, and more. But - what does vintage mean, actually? Searching in the online dictionaries, I've found lots of definitions in connection with wine. Other than that, Dictionary.com describes the adjective "vintage" as  "representing the high quality of a past time", "old-fashioned or obsolete", and "being the best of its kind".
When I think about Vintage Crochet, I imagine an old family heirloom or flea market find, a new item that has the look of "days of old", or something you've made using an old or traditional pattern (a good source for that is Free Vintage Crochet).
Anyway, I'm looking forward to your definition of Vintage Crochet!

Free Topic Friday

It's Free Topic Friday again, you know what to do: share your crochet (any crochet) and visit some of the links in the gallery!

I'd normally ask you to vote for the next topic, too, but there seems to be a problem with the current poll: Right now it seems like nobody has voted yet, but I know that there were several votes a few days ago. Something must have gone wrong here (... wasn't me! *gg*)
Maybe you can try to place your vote (again), and I hope it'll work out somehow until our next theme-party in two weeks from now!

Gifts

Welcome to another Theme-Party! This month's topic is Gifts: you can share everything you've ever crocheted as a gift for Birthdays, Christmas, Mother's Day, Baby Showers or any other occasion - or maybe no occasion at all, which are often the best gifts :)
Or maybe you'd like to share a crocheted gift that someone gave to you? Or just any item that would make a perfect gift. You see, the possibilities are endless again - I'm looking forward to your ideas!

But also other accessories, like scarves and shawls, gloves, belts, bags and purses, and anything else that comes to your mind when you think of crochet accessories.

Pillows

Oh - my - goodness. Have a look at the final result of our current poll - this was definitely the closest decision we've ever had. In fact, it had been so close (with four topics in the pole position), that I had to cast a vote too, to bring about a decision. I hope you're okay with today's topic, pillows! Show us your granny pillows and round cushions, stripy ones, wiggly ones, blooming flower or heart-shaped cushions and whatever else you rest your head on :)

Free Topic Link-Party

Welcome to the first Free Topic Link-Party here at the Crochet Boulevard!

Since this site is dedicated to Crochet link-parties, it would be a shame if we had only one party per month, right? I thought it would be fun, if from now on we had two parties each month: one free-topic party (where you can share any crochet), and one theme-party (where you should stick to the given topic).

Below this post you can still vote for the next theme-party that will start later this month, but for now: feel free to share your favorite crochet projects!

Free Crochet Patterns

Welcome to the Crochet Boulevard, the brand-new site for our monthly theme-parties, I'm so glad you're here! If you've never been to one of my link-parties at made in k-town, or if you'd like to find out more about why I've moved, please check out the "About"-page. I really hope you like this new blog, and if you do, please tell your friends about it :)

Now back to business: you've voted for a great topic again, it's Free Crochet Patterns this time. And since this is our first theme-party at my new site and I'll be on vacation soon, you'll have the rest of June and the whole month of July time to share your free patterns!! It doesn't matter which kind of pattern you're posting, it can be doilies, squares, amigurumis, potholders, cushions, flowers, anything really - as long as it is crochet and free. (If you'd like to link up someone else's pattern, please ask the designer for permission first). I bet we'll have a terrific pattern source at the end of July!

Below this post you can already vote for the next theme-party in August. And of course you can grab my party button if you'd like to (if you've already got the old button on your blog, please replace it with the new one and the link to The Crochet Boulevard).

an update: please remember to link up only free crochet patterns (or at least posts that contain a free pattern link)! Unfortunately I already had to remove some beautiful links, because the post didn't feature a pattern. It makes me feel a bit miserable, but I hope you understand!

Stripes

Welcome to our 10th Theme Party! The topic you've voted for this time is Stripes: do you have any stripy crochet to share? Maybe a granny striped or a ripple blanket? A cushion? Stripy socks or maybe even a Zebra amigurumi? Here's your stage! :)

Before you share your link and hop away to check out some great stripy projects, maybe you can give me some feedback: are you bored of the topics that are on our voting list right now? Do you have new ideas? When do you think should I add the topics we've already had (like the Grannies, the flowers, etc.) to the current poll again? And should this theme-party stay a crochet-only party or would you like to link up other crafts as well, like knitting, sewing or stitching? (Of course the projects would have to match the given theme, too).

Thank you for your input! :)

Spring and Easter Crochet

It's party-time again!! You know what? This is our 9th theme-party and so far I haven't voted for a topic myself, yet - but you've always picked the one I hoped you would :) So this time our theme is Spring and Easter Crochet: show us your Easter bunnies and eggs, your spring doilies and blankets, anything that has to do with this happy season of the year!

Colorful

Hey girls! It's nice to see you've dropped in again, to brighten up the last days of this winter with your most colorful crochet! This topic has been on the list from the beginning, and it's good to see that it has made the race this time. Isn't it interesting how sometimes the most simple patterns look just stunning because of the colors? I'm thinking of granny blankets and colorful ripples, cushions and potholders, anything - okay, maybe not a white doily :)

Before you add your link and hop away, please have a look at my right side bar: I've already started the next poll with a new topic, Spring and Easter Crochet. I've planned the next theme-party for the Easter week-end, so it would be a perfect topic, don't you think?

Have a great week-end everybody!! :)

Welcome to our big Valentine's Party - you've voted for it, now you get it :) It's only a few days until Valentine's Day now, what a great time for us all to share our hearts with the rest of the world! :) Please link up all crochet stuff that you associate with Valentine's Day - hearts of course, flowers maybe. Can't wait to see your Valentine's ideas!
